Ashley is the debut perfume by Ashley Roberts. Light, summery floral top notes with spring musky undertones. If you have any preconceived ideas of a celebrity perfume (sweet, cheap and sickly?) then this may be a welcomed surprise.
I was sent a bottle from the lovely Jenna at CAN Associates. If I were to be brutally honest, my first smell of the bottle I wasn’t sure, even when I sprayed it I wasn’t sure but the more I wear this perfume, the more I absolutely love it!
I have a sensitive sense of smell so I’m very particular about perfumes, my favourite perfume for the last few years has been Issey Miyake L’Eau d’Issey and more recently I’ve also been wearing Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau de Parfum; but for the last few weeks, Ashley has been my go to perfume.
The press release states:
A rich floral fragrance that incises you with bright bursts of orange blossom with romantic notes of rose honey and Ylang-ylang to fulfil your every desire. In the base note, a euphoric burst of Patchouli and Amber Accord will sweep you off your feet.
Encased in a classy, tall bottle with butterfly detailing and matte finish, Ashley by Ashley Roberts perfume is fun, fabulous and flirty, just like her.
Firstly the bottle is lovely and does look very pretty on my dressing table but it’s all about the smell. When sprayed, the first smell you get is the musky base notes, mainly the amber, then the fruity floral notes start to come in. It’s so unusual to have a burst of all the smells at once; if you’ve smelt Alien by Thierry Mugler you’ll know what I mean, but you really do get a hit of all the top, middle and base notes and it just smells divine. It doesn’t take much body heat to release the scent and I love how it gently wafts around me when I’m in the gym. Thankfully I can’t really smell the Ylang Ylang because I really don’t like the smell.
I put it on around 9am in the morning and I can still smell it while laying in bed at 11pm, not what you’d expect from a perfume that only costs around £20.
I’m so glad I received a sample of this because I’m not sure I would have liked it if I’d just smelt it in the bottle. You can buy this at The Perfume Shop £19.99, keyfashion.co.uk £21.99, very.co.uk and Argos. I would highly recommend you go in and sample it, wear it for the day and see what you think. This is definitely a new favourite of mine.
I will be holding a competition next week on Twitter for 1 person to win a bottle so if you want a chance to try it for free FOLLOW ME.
